Note of Congratulations
Servas International elected to the CoNGO* Board
Servas International extends its warm congratulations to the Servas UN Team for their active participation in the General Assembly of CoNGO (Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations), held from 27–29 October 2025 in New York, USA.
We are proud to announce that SI has been elected to the CoNGO Board, along with 19 other NGOs, for a three-year term 2025-2028. This significant achievement enhances SI’s presence within the global NGO community and strengthens its voice in the United Nations–related dialogues on peace, sustainability, and human rights. Special recognition is extended to Hamsavahini Singh, Servas International Coordinator to the United Nations, for her leadership and commitment. Hamsavahini participated virtually in the CoNGO General Assembly and has, over the past seven months, taken the initiative to guide and coordinate Servas International’s successful bid for election to the CoNGO Board. Her earlier participation in the CoNGO Regional Committee (RCAP) meeting in Bangkok in April 2025 was instrumental in building relationships that led to this milestone.
We also acknowledge Rachel Elion, Servas International’s Main Representative to the UN in New York, who took part in person throughout the three-day CoNGO General Assembly, representing SI with dedication and professionalism.
As a new CoNGO Board member, Servas International now has a broader platform to advocate for peace, intercultural dialogue, and citizen diplomacy, while deepening collaboration with other NGOs and UN partners. This strengthened visibility will also help expand the Servas network, inspiring more individuals and families around the world to join as hosts and travelers in support of our shared mission of fostering peace through understanding.
Servas International looks forward to contributing actively to the work of CoNGO and to continuing its longstanding role as a voice for peace and global friendship within the United Nations system.
