Report on the Servas Uganda Meeting – June 28–30, 2025, Kampala
This report summarizes the proceedings of the Servas Uganda meeting held from June 28th to 30th, 2025, in Kampala.
The meeting brought together participants from vulnerable and marginalized communities, who are often the most affected during times of conflict — both locally and globally. The event focused on peacebuilding, aiming to strengthen harmony among participants and the broader community where the activities took place. Every action was rooted in our shared belief that peace is essential to reaching out to the world with empathy and unity.
Attendees came from diverse backgrounds, representing various disciplines, cultures, ethnicities, and educational levels. The groups represented included:
- Residents of slum areas
- Educational institutions
- Charity organizations
- Religious leaders
- Youth groups
- Community leaders
The activities organized during the meeting included:
- Community cleanup in a slum area of Kampala
- Water well cleaning to promote hygiene and shared responsibility
- Feeding programs for homeless and runaway children
- Youth engagement through music and art for peace, performed by children living on the streets
- Peace-themed painting workshops designed to foster expression and healing
These efforts reflect Servas Uganda’s commitment to creating a more peaceful and inclusive society through grassroots action and cultural expression.
