Pakistan - Tree Plantation in Parachinar

Servas being an organization of prevailing sympathy, understanding & friendliness has been doing its duty with full determination considering it a sublime mission. Servas always welcomes acts of assistance, words of encouragement & smiles of favour. Each & every member of this organization tries their best to contribute efforts in accordance with their access to the resources. These activities & contributions reflect the nobility, true feelings & positivism of the Servas members towards mankind, they keep on performing constructive work every now & then.

Like the other parts of the country, Servas is also very active in Parachinar FATA (Federal Administrative Tribal Areas). The members of Servas in FATA are doing constructive work all the time, in this regard a five days programme of "Tree Plantation" was launched under the supervision of Mr. Hameed Hassan the coordinator of Servas for FATA, with reference to the environment.

During this campaign more than 400 plants were planted in order to make the atmosphere refreshing. Along with Mr. Hameed Hassan & Servas members some other authorities took active part in that campaign, commenting on the issue the personalities laid stress upon the tree plantation to make the environment healthier & to get rid of pollution.

Pakistan - Polio Vaccination in Parachinar

Servas wishes to join people through thick & thin, in their sorrows & joys, it aims at providing the humanity with the ocean of bliss & real pleasure. Servas is always busy in working out the solutions of human problems; with reference to this let us see how Servas is rendering services to people on medical ground.

As we know, vaccination has been proved an effective safeguard against various fatal diseases. In the recent times, so many diseases have been cured with the use of vaccination, regarding this a two days polio campaign was launched in Parachinar FATA under the supervision of Mr. Hameed Hassan on behalf of Servas Pakistan. In this campaign more than 1500 children were given Polio vaccines, this campaign was launched for maintaining health of the children & to enable them to make a proper defence against Polio.

Servas FATA coordinator along with other authorities promised to resume these health activities in the future, they were determined to combat diseases & to give every possible help to people on behalf of Servas Pakistan. This action shows that how willingly & sincerely Servas is committed to lessen the misery of the needy. It is highly appreciated even in this material age that some organizations like Servas are still there to provide comforts to mankind.

Pakistan - 55th Anniversary

Servas Pakistan 55th Anniversary

Servas Pakistan Meeting was held to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of SERVAS International in Lahore, Pakistan on 10 Oct 04. There were fifty five members from all over Pakistan. Chief Guest was Mr. Zia Haider Rizvi, Honorary Consul General for Thailand at Lahore. He congratulated all the members of SERVAS Pakistan on the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of Servas International and highlighted the prospects of “PEACE” through tourism & his experiences of traveling in different countries of the world. He told the Servas members about the importance of Peace & Tourism. He realized that the mission of Servas is to create the atmosphere of friendship through “Open Doors Open Minds” in different nations of the entire world. He prayed for the bright future of SERVAS.

India - Servas Day

Servas Day was celebrated at A-7/6 Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, the residence of Smt Ratnabali Mitra who made wonderful arrangements. Nine Servas members attended the function. A vote of thanks was presented to Smt Ratnabali Mitra for taking all the trouble for the function & a nice tea party she gave. I gave out my impressions of our National Conference in May 04 in Nasik & also of SI conference 2004 in which 6 of our Indian Servas members participated. The Members from Delhi attending the function were also told of the deliberations of our members in the south of India & the meeting between Dr Ramesh Sharma, Dy NS, myself & 3 other members from Delhi that took place on 03 Oct 04 at Lajpat Bhavan New Delhi. Our Servas members in South India, Dr Sharma had conveyed that they were desirous that our next national conference be held in Bangalore. The members affirmed their support for holding of National conference at Bangalore at which the New NS should be elected. The conference is likely to be held in December 04.
