SI MONTHLY NEWS June 2007 Editorial

From SI Exco News

Changes and Development

Life does not stand still. Nor does Servas. There is plenty happening and the more one looks around the organisation the more one can see happening.

Changes include Ömer (Özkan) passing the SI treasury over to LV (Subramanian). We are happy that it is going from one person who has worked hard to move it from the amateur to the more professional and it is moving to someone who is professional in the financial world.

Development includes such items as the Music for Peace CD developed by the Youth. We look forward to hearing more of this.

Peace Direct are also having an input, see their items on page 6. They would like to include Servas in their newsletter and for us to work together. Let us think what we can offer them that is positive and shows us in action.

Servas Monthly News, July issue

There will not be a July issue of Servas Monthly News. Two reasons: 1) I am involved in the International Youth and Family Event which starts at the end of July I will not be around at editing time. I will not be back until 8 August.

2) At the moment I do not have enough copy for the July issue. Normally there is some backlog for carry over but at the moment there is none.

So .............................

I intend to do a combined July/August issue August after the International Youth and Family event. This should contain plenty from the event, preferably done by the Youthery and hopefully have interested the Youthery such that they will help with the production of copy in the future.

This will then cover nothing being produced at the end of August when I hope to be away possibly Servasing somewhere.
