Volunteers for Peace - International Voluntary Service

Over 2300 Projects Still Available

A variety of great voluntary service projects are still available, including: an environmental education and gardening project in Leogane, Haiti; community development projects in Kenya; teaching socially disadvantaged children in Brazil, volunteering at an art festival in Greece or working with street children in Azerbaijan. To search over 2300 various open international voluntary service projects in 100 countries worldwide, visit the VFP Open Project Directory.

Glimpse Correspondents Program

This is an exciting opportunity for VFP writers, photographers, and videographers going abroad this fall. Glimpse is a new National Geographic platform -- in print and online -- about real life abroad. It features stories by young Americans that delve beneath the surface of global cultures and day-to-day living overseas. As a Glimpse Correspondent, you will receive a $600 stipend, a professional editor, and the opportunity to be published in National Geographic Glimpse.

Senior Voluntary Service is now Online!

SEVEN (Senior European Volunteers Exchange Network) is now online! In this website senior volunteers (age 55 and up) will find a database that gathers and shows the senior International Voluntary Service Projects with the IVS Network.

Volunteer Quote & Photo of the Month

Kleber Delgado ~ Brazil ~ December 2007

"My experience as an English teacher in the community center...was one filled with many different experiences. All of them were very rewarding and educational for me and the students. It was a great opportunity to have an intercultural experience and to learn from each other."
