HELP US PLEASE! DO YOU KNOW ANY ORGANISATIONS THAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR US?

  • We need youth-friendly/beneficial/peace organisations that we can link to our youth website.
  • If you want more details about how young people/groups of young people from any country can be involved in the

Servas youth and family event in Britain in July 2007 – please contact: Ann Greenhough. Email:dasher1949[at]aol.com.

The Servas Youth website was a very important goal for us to reach after the meeting in BARCELONA. With a lot of effort and a great deal of help from Iain Snee of Servas Canada and Claudio Pacchiega of Servas Italy. This website is now ready to receive your visit and praise, wonder and constructive comments. Go there and check it out and be dazzled. • Report of Exco and Governance workshop was presented to the general assembly.
  • The GA voted to make a decision in principle that a statue amendment be drafted to establish a board for SI made of ECO officers, conveners of committees & representatives of national groups.
  • The Youth Team presented their workshop report and motion to the GA who voted to send it back for clearer wording.

WORKSHOPS Financial discussion: Money money! Where does it come from? Where does it go to? This led to good constructive discussions. Ideas from various countries were reviewed which produced balanced, concise motions for the GA to vote upon.

Host Lists: Areas were reviewed in particular - secure access and electronic host lists issues. The use of electronic host lists was very popular, however it must be realised that for some internet access is quite limited and problematic.

SI Officers: Who wants to be an SI officer? How should they be nominated? What qualification and experience should they have? In depth discussions resulted which helped turn some ideas into concrete motions to go be sent to the GA.

Mullai Pathy – Singapore and Jane Giffould – Britain.
