Extraordinary GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2006
EGA2006 Update No. 11
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear National Secretaries and Area Coordinators
An extra two weeks has been added on to the original deadline for receiving Registration Applications i.e. 31 December 2005 and we are now very close to reaching the capacity of registrations for EGA2006 at the Park Hotel, Latina.
National Secretaries are asked to review the size of your planned delegations, to avoid disappointment and unnecessary expense. The entire thrust of the extra-ordinary General Assembly is to work on those issues which National Secretaries asked for, to resolve critical issues in the structure and management of Servas International. No separate ‘Observer’ Social Programme is being planned for the EGA Programme.
All delegates will be expected to work. Some specialized helper jobs are still needed, to provide professional quality steno services, oral interpretation and translation. We are also still looking for a good balance of volunteer facilitators. A limited number of spaces is available in the formal meeting-rooms, and priority seating must be given to the official representatives of each Member-Country and to volunteers essential to the operation of support services
To avoid an ‘over-booking’ situation, all Registration Applications being received by the Park Hotel after today (14 January 2006) will automatically be placed on a “Waiting List” and will only be be transferred to the “Confirmed Space” list when we are certain that both accommodation and conference seating space is available.
In peace and friendship
Geoff Maltby
President – Servas International
